Track scraping-better solution?
Made the mistake of volunteering last night to help scrap the track-big mistake! We went from the burnout box to about 30' after the tree-with 2 ice scrapers with a rotation of men and 1 propane burner, started at 9pm and I left the track at 3:15am this morning with another 15' left to go. Is this the only method out there that is good enough, the track manager informed me that tracks all over have tried numerous things and nothing works as good as this amish form I participated in last night. This finally gave me a reason to order the double barrel propane torch I've been putting off, but come on!!

That's the only way I know of to do a good track scraping. The more people that help, the faster it goes. We never took 6 hours to scrape a track. 3 at the most but then we also use 3 tiger torches (propane burners).

My buddy was at a points race at our local track this weekend and he said they were using a bobcat with a bucket to scrape the start area. Might not do as good a job as the ice scrapers I suspect.
