Does a high humidity amount at the track slow our 1/4 times when compared to a low humidity? Please be easy on me still new to drag racing. thanks

I dont think it helps, i rather race in low humity and colder temps than warmer weather with high humity.

I think the cooler denser drier air is alot better for engine performance than running with humid hot air.

Humidity is water vapour in the air. The percentage doesn't mean very much because of saturation pressure. 50% humidity at 80*F has more water in the air than 50% humidity at 60*F. When there's water vapour in the air, it displaces the air molecules. With less air to burn, the engine will make less power.

3 weather factors affect an engine's performance. High temperature, low barometric pressure and high humidity will all lower the amount of power an engine can make. Humidity is at the lowest end of the scale. The percentage drop in power is actually a low ratio from a low to high humidity range compared to BP and temperature.

I lost a solid 2-3 tenths in 80 degree, 95% relative humidity compared to 55 degree weather with like 50% realative humidity....I was trapping in the 96.5-97.0 range in the cool weather and just 94.5 in the hot weather.
