well my new 600 mile old spec stage 3 clutch welded the disc to the flywheel friday night at new england drag way....
after pulling it out its obvious that it wasnt broken in enough, as the entire disc was not contacting the flywheel yet, only about the top 2/3's of the pucks were touching by examining the wear lines.
the problem is, SPEC recommends a 400 mile break in, and i gave it 600 miles.....
I shipped the clutch disc, pressure plate, and MY Ram billet flywheel (which the clutch toasted) back to SPEC today like they asked....they are gonna replace the whole thing.
but the problem remains, how do you know when its broken in....if they dont know, then im at a loss.....im gonna have to put about 1000 miles on it then take the tranny out AGAIN and check it for proper seating......oh boy
On the bright side, the pass before meltdown, i pulled a 1.66 short time, which is my best yet down from a 1.68

That sucks. Hopefully they will have some suggestions when they get all the parts back.

Maybe something was wrong with the clutch you got... 600 mile breakin should be plenty....
