Mods if you believe this is out of place delete it, you won't hurt my feelings..

Anyway a buddy of mine has a '93 Mustang notchback. It's got a little 302 with plenty of money dropped in it, and a 5 speed. Right now it's running an 8.0@86mph with a 2.5 60ft (1/8th). No it has not traction at all, as that was on street tires. How much could that ET drop with some slicks or drag radials if he doesn't break anything?

i am thinking mid 7s with a better 60 foot thats my guess, not sure how that 5 speed will hold up with slicks though.

but if he takes it easy with drag radials and starts getting 2.0 60 foots or better than it seems mid 7s to me is possible.

The tranny will hold up fine... I have one and have been launching it at 5500-6000 and it hasnt given any real issues.

Mustang T5s are much better than GM T5s (the ones we got)... I think he would be mid to high 7s with the mph, and that would be a low 12 in the 1/4 (I think).

If he can hook with that kind of power he should be capable of at least a 2.00 sixty foot which would shave at least .5s off the overall time. Should be able to hit a 7.3-7.4 on a solid launch with minor suspension tweaks and slicks.

If he gets tires on that thing it will pick up A LOT. I dont know about 1/8 mile, but in the 1/4 a tenth on the 60 foot is usually worth a tenth and a half up top, especially I find on the cars that spin beyond the 60/330 ft marks.

If he can 1.8 60 foot, that would be .7 off his ET right there before any conversion.
