Just for those who are interested in this type of racing, here's a link to the West Coast ProMods. The west coast is the place to be this year.

We have one local Promod racers who's making a name for himself and doing well. Rick DiStefano and his 53 Corvette. He was hoping to be the first Promod into the 5's but someone else beat him to it.

That's the nice thing about Promods. Even though they may have fiberglass or carbon fiber bodies, at least they still look like the cars they're suppose to represent. Funny cars all look the same except for the emblem and headlight decals on the front.

Out of all the PRO classes in drag racing, from a spectator standpoint, Pro Mod is my favorite. I really like the various stock appearing cars and their wild paint schemes, along with a whining supercharger and carbon fiber injector hat sticking through the hood. Rarely is any run NOT exciting to watch. They're the quickest door slammers on the planet.

It'll be interesting to see how the old "king" of PM, Scotty Cannon does this year, now that he's retired from TF funny car. He'll be racing his old Studebaker.

Here's another link to a popular Pro Mod site:
