How much improvement would I expect to see with drag radials or real slicks?
Currently have 275/40ZR/17 BF Goodrich T/A 's rears.
Current best times on 1/8 th mile 8.8/8.9's--1.9's/60 ft.--my fastest times come in the middle of the day, in the heat (rubber on the track hotter--hooks up better?), but I am still buzzin the tires BAD on the launch. My times go down to 9.1/9.2 's at night, but mph goes up 2/3 mph at night in the cooler air.
Also, anybody with similar engine/chassis setup--what are u running, so I can get some idea if I am anywhere close to running at full potential. Car is my daily driver so it has to stay very streetable.
See mods below.

even on a "stock" car youll pick up 2 tenths easy....whats your stall at?...depending on that with some slicks you could be in the 1.6-7's

The Ati converter was already in the car when I bought it--have sent e-mail to ATI and asked what stall speed it is rated at--but no reply (yet).
Best I can figure by tach, is that it's around 2000 +/- .

I talked to 2 guys at the track today that were set up similar to you. they bothused cheater slicks at track and were pulling 1.6 to 1.7 60' and running mid 12's in the 1/4. I do not remeber their 1/8 mile times but i'm sure they were low 8's

I don't have the same setup, but my times improved by 4 tenths in the 1/8 mile. I could load up the car and launch without too much wheel spin.
I paid $250cdn for the pair with rims, well worth the money!!!
