lower my 60'?

ok so i drag race my car last night and i think my 60' times are a lttle high. they are:
2.354
2.324
2.375
2.351
2.344
this is in a 91 305 tbi with an open 3.40 diff. they are consistent, so is that what i should be getting? only real mod is a full exhaust system and open element.

1st thing, get a posi. that'll double your traction.

then, get some good tires.

once you can dead hook, the L03 usually only has enough power to get a best of 1.9 60s.. but atleast then you'll be able to use any more power you add...

^ what he said good posi and tires. with a real mild 350 and the same 305 stuff i was able to get high 1.7s with a 14 sec car. it takes torque to get the car in motion and if you cant put it to the pavement thats wasted time aswell

if my tires are spinning, it is not very much, my quickest time is 16.488 at 82 something mph.

Assuming you hav the motor, tranney at the same temp each pass, rear tires at the same psi....looking at those 60's you were either- spinning, staging at a different spot, leaving at a different rpm.

As much as they moved around there is nothing consistant about those numbers. Consistant is when they dont move more than .006 within a days time.

Posi/sitckies, done....then start doing your mods so you have rock solid info to base them off of. Keep track of weather conditions also. If you test one mod in the spring/fall it's going to look ALOT better on the slip than if you did the same thing in the summer due to air conditions.
