Converter question...

Anybody ever have a converter go bad and lose stall speed? I've seen converters go away where they slip more, but am wondering if they can slip less too?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

I had mine rebuilt a few years ago. It was acting up so I took it in for repair. One of the torrington bearings had collapsed and with the tight internal clearances, the fins were making contact, dragging everything down.

I hope it's not making contact but if it is it is there's nothing I can do now. Taking it to the track this wed weather permitting to get some datalogs of whats going on before pulling it.

I think I need to find a new converter company, this converter works great when it's good, but it's been sent back way too many times for my likes.

Thanks

Precision Industries - thankfully they have good service because I broke 2 sprags last year(one after 200 passes, the other after only 19)`and had another failure the year before(not sprag). This year they rebuilt it spragless for me and it was great for about 10 passes, now I cant get enough rpm's to spool the turbo.

Thinking about going ATI, a few guys I know with 9 and 10 second buicks are having good luck with them in TH400's.

I have heard of the Precision Industries converters doing that. I think mine is doing the same thing. Mine is supposed to be a 3000 and i can't build any boost on the line and its starting to get frustrating. I'm going to put a th350 in w / a t-brake and a TCI 3500.
