How fast is does a car have to be before it requires a roll bar if it has t-tops?

I am thinking I will be in the high to mid 12's so I should be ok right?

Re: T-top rules

T-top cars fall under the same rules as a hard top. 6 point roll bar required at 11.49. Roll bar is good to 10.0 unless floor or firewall is modified. Then a full cage is required. A full cage is required at 9.99 and quicker.

My car got a roll bar when I was knocking on the door of 11's. At the time 11.99 and quicker needed a roll bar. When my car got into the low 10's, I ripped out the roll bar and installed a full cage.

Re: T-top rules

Check with your local track as well....my track states that t-top cars must adhere to convertible rules....this rule has been on their website for several years now so, it may have changed without them updating it.

Re: T-top rules

NHRA tried to make the rule for T-tops the same as convertibles a couple of years ago but it was changed back before the start of the season.
