Pro Comps

I had a little incident last yr. where I smacked a valve due to a pair of bad valve locks so I had a chance to pick these heads up very cheap even though I have read some not so nice things...Anyway, due to tight budget and comparing the cost to fix my darts I went for it....Well, let me tell you I am actually glad I spent the couple of bucks that I did, because I went a 12.2 right off of the street with no cool down except tire pressure of course then I hot lapped it to a 12.1.....These times were not expected by any means and the fact that it needed more jet only tells me that they will in fact go 11's with some tuning!! So, note to self not everything is true on the net!!

Re: Pro Comps

I have a set of pro comps on my 406. I run 1/8 mile tracks. 1st time out tonight, it ran a 6.42@ 105 mph. I don't believe everything I read either. Oh, I also run a red neck converter. Consistant 1.32/1.33 60 fters. My pro comps needed very little port work. They are for a high port intake, I didn't especially care for that, BUT they seem to work pretty good. They may not produce the #s that AFR gets, but they don't cost what AFRs do either

Re: Pro Comps

theres a local guy running the pro comps on his 331 sbf turbo combo in the low 9's... Just make sure your valvetrain is good to go and those heads do everything they need to do. I dont get in all the hype with brand name stuff.

Re: Pro Comps

Well, I finally made it back to the track again and it went into the 11's with more jet as I thought it would...11.82@114.6 ....Anyway, I wasn't able to do that much tuning because it seemed that every other car was leaking or breaking so I had alot of time to bs with people in the lanes lol...So, I will report back within the next couple of weeks...

Re: Pro Comps

I went outside today and my car wasn't there! oh no I thought, someone stole it! but sure enough as I looked harder I saw it that it was over in the bushes hiding from 1QWIKZ Good job... You see improvements from tuning and I lose power from it.

I'll probably see ya at Atco this week.... I got the plate hooked up and the 100HP jets in. Hopefully you wont have to clean up afterwards

Re: Pro Comps

I am happy to see someone else have good luck with these pro-comp or patriot heads. My car runs great with them and it sounds like yours does as well, maybe now some people will see that they are not garbage. Probably not.

Yea, I am definitely a believer now that they were just getting a bad rap but for the couple bucks that I spent I am over joyed lol!
