Roll bar suggestions
Well I busted out an 11.41 all motor on my street car and now I'm looking for suggestions, tips and names of the recommended roll cage kits. As I'd like to actually spray the car next season ( it's a motor built for spray). So far from my reserch the comp engineering kit seems to be ok. but some of you guys probably know more than who I've talked to.

I went with an Auto Weld kit. I did have to add one bend to 2 of the bars but otherwise it fit in very nicely.

A 5,6,8 point roll bar is good to 10.0. If you dip into the 9's, you need a full cage plus a lot of other stuff.

of course I could be over shooting like when I built the motor thinking the car would be a low 12 second car on motor...turns out it's a low 11 second car on motor...

Re: Roll bar suggestions
i went 11.47 on motor with my 383. Could go more once i get abit more gear and fully launch it with full traction. On the realllly rich 150 shot i went 10.92 at 125 but i had very little traction.. i could have or should have went 10.7's atleast with .1 off the 60 foot that i usually get. I was doing 1.65 that night and usually go 1.55 on motor alone. I didnt spray off the line, i just walked into it cuz i wasnt sure what the nitrous would do.
this 150 shot is now leaned out to 12.0 to 1 air fuel and should realllly pick up. I expect 10.50's and better once i can fully launch it.
250 shot should DEFINATELY put you down into the bottom 10's

S&W race cars has a perfect fitting kit-- not so universal like a few others and easy to go 10 point if you ever needed

I used a wolf 6pt for a 4th gen and put it in my 3rd gen, it fit very nicely. no modfications. it was chrome-moly, jig notched, low side bars for use with door panels.

Re: Roll bar suggestions
Years back i bought the Jegster 8 point kit and was pleasantly suprised by the fit. I had a few fishmouths i had to open up/change the angle of, but every car will be a bit different since i'm sure all of our bars wont be in the EXACT same position. From the time my buddy and i walked into the shop and turned on the light, until we had 3 coats of spray paint on it and were shutting the lights off was 5 hours. It helps we had all the tools to make this effortless than some guys might not have and requires more work, but overall it went together very well.
