350tpi and ls1
Has anyone in here consistantly beat a stock ls1 car in the 1/4 with a bolt on l98? I beat one a few years ago in the 1/4 back to back. I believe it was an 02 model. It seems like after 100 they start pulling on me. I really cannot wait to own one. I love those ws6 ram air cars.

Re: 350tpi and ls1
you mean running 13.0s? don't know many L98 guys on this forum running that time with bolt-ons.
I remember years ago my carb'd 305 running 13.0s at 102 or 103. But who even has a "stock" ls1 anymore all the ones I see have exhausts and/or cams etc. Thankfully the ls based carb'd motor in my car is "stock" too.

Re: 350tpi and ls1
I must be a good driver for someone that's inexperienced.
On my 3rd run at the track for the very first time I've ever been to a track, I ran 12.99. 13.2 on the run before that. Almost stock except for a lid and predator programmer.
I had never raced before in my life other than practicing on empty roads. It's scary what this thing will do once I learn to cut my 60's down.

Re: 350tpi and ls1
On test and tune nights there are quite a few near-stock LS1 birds and Zs at my track. last year I beat every one I went up against, and my best was a 12.8@104. (Note I said near-stock; all it takes is a cam and decent driver and I lose). Most of them are sticks and if they are running drag radials they are still learning how to launch on them.
I beat my buddy with his healthy cam/headers LS1 one race because he couldn't launch the damn thing. He _almost_ caught me at the line and trapped 10mph more than me, but I did post the lower ET
Then he got a better launch and ran a 12.2
