What stall speed to go with?
Hey guys! Trying to figure what stall speed to go with. the cam I have has a adv duration of 280 intake 290 exhaust @ .005 lift. duration @ .050 is 212 intake and exhaust. with 112 lobe separation. car still has stock 9 bolt rearend. 3.08 gears. had car dynoed and tuned 240 hp at rear wheels. bolt ons include hedman long tubes, 58 mm throttle body, 32 lb injectors, painless pefect engine management system. min 2500 but a 3000 would be better. with the 700r4 you can get a lockup converter so highway cruising will still be good

A full size street converter with a 2600-2800 would work well. It would retain the factory lock up and can be bought under $300.

The camshaft is going to want a stall speed around 3000 for street strip. For full race 3500-4000 would be better.
You diff gears are not matched for the camshaft or recommended stall speed and will hold back a lot of performance.

x2 - 212@ .050, I would think Stephen is shooting a little high, but then again (performance wise) more stall would help off-set the less than optimal gearing.

Thanks guys for all the input and help. I know the diff gears are too high going to be replacing rear end over winter. Probably a strange unit with 3:73 gears. Thanks again!!
