Re: What are your goals for the 2012 racing season?
Gave my car a 30th b-day present today. The motor made more than I ever expected. You can see the vacuum pump sucking air on this pull. We had to fix a leak after the pull. I dynoed a 4500 carb and a 4150 for class racing. The 4150 made 15 less hp. That is one heck of a 4150 carb....

I tried to fly Gary in for tuning but he was unavailable today.

Re: What are your goals for the 2012 racing season?
I would like to be satisfied in 2012 with something......anything. I'm always thinking theres a better car out there for me. A better combination, a better body style, better street mannors, faster time slips, better sounding stereo..... Bigger *****, firmer butt, blonder hair. Oops vered off...
2012 = hope to be satisfied with my '87 T-type build which I think will run 11.50's with a grandmom tune and 10.80's on the track tune. so far been driving it everyday and it's a great, quiet street car.

I just need to use 4th gen brakes thats all my main requirements are. I seen your moser install/setup thread and it looks like alot more work than I imagined. It thought they came ready to bolt in and install??

Re: What are your goals for the 2012 racing season?
someone sells a full assembled 9", can't recall off the top of my head, but you need the axles off to press on the bearings behind the factory caliper brackets. If using strange brakes, etc then the bracket has an opening for the axles. Takes about 2 hours for me to put one together if I'm taking my time.

Get the car off the jackstands, and moving back under its own power. Make at least on TnT low 11's are the immediate goal.

12's... If I can figure out why my 700R4 keeps shifting out of 2nd by itself that should be no problem.

Re: What are your goals for the 2012 racing season?
Those 6010 boxes don't seem to be very reliable. I was disappointed last year when my box went up in smoke for no reason. I bought another box to use until MSD sent me a replacement box, it took them about 2 weeks I think. I kept the replacement box so if it happens again the car won't be down.

Re: What are your goals for the 2012 racing season?
yes, i'm seeing a trend. i'm not going to spend any more money on it...just wait till i get my box back. having the car down means more study time...
i'm looking at the front distributor drives now...msd makes good product when you get into there 7 series boxes and stuff, so i was thinking of a distributor drive, and a 7530T box or something like that....would give me lots of room to grow. just don't know how to tackle things like timing marks and other odds and ends that you need to do when going to a distributor. wonder if someone will come out with a more reliable box than the 6010? or if msd will step up there program, and make like a 7 series version of the box with more capabilities? i'd love to keep my coils if i could...

Re: What are your goals for the 2012 racing season?
Its' designed to convert the factory LSx crank trigger signal to a 12 volt square wave signal that will trigger a conventional MSD 6 or 7-Series Ignition Control......

Updates on my goals:
So far my goals have be complete for the beginning of the season. Running low 14's, won a few rounds so far for Points in sportsman. And the main thing...the car is still running good and has been quite consistant for a boosted application!
14.02-14.26 in the last 10 full passes when I wasn't on the brakes or peddling. Car definitly passed my exspectations.

Re: What are your goals for the 2012 racing season?
well, i met one of my two goals that i set: made the Dean's list at school this semester
barely went racing at all though as a result, and changed the whole car up and now rocking a t56 and a junkyard 5.3. the 6.0 is sitting on the stand waiting to go to the machine shop, and the th400 is in a turbo 4.8 car in kentucky running bottom 9's/upper 8's.

Shave .13 off and run 10's.
Not as easy as it sounds cause I have to add the weight on a mild steel 6 pt. rollbar.

Re: What are your goals for the 2012 racing season?
I've really only driven my car about 150 miles since the LS1/T56 swap due to winter, but I'd like to get the stock LS engine and suspension as dialed in as I can and just see what I can run. I'd be thrilled with a 12.50 or better, which I think is absolutely feasible. My car isn't a strip only car, and I do think the lighter weight 18lb flywheels will impact my 60' times. Also a "bummer", I can't run my skinnies due to the LS1 brake upgrade. No big deal, just gonna have to save some money and buy some 17" front runners later on.
2013, I hope to have the engine significantly upgraded with AI heads and cam, and I'm thinking low 11's is a possibility then...that'd be sweet.

The LS1 has absolutely blew me away in performance.
Also, 243's already finished by AI, I'll be starting a new build thread soon for all my winter "upgrades"...muhahaha.

Re: What are your goals for the 2012 racing season?
It took some doing but I eventualy got my main goal for the season with my first 10sec time slip. I smoked the t400 in June and didnt get the car back up and running till late July. Car woudn't 60ft for ****. 1.6-1.7 60ft. times. Seemed like the motor wanted more gear. Tried going from the 28" slick to a 26" drag radial. I had to walk it out to get it to hook with the small drag radial, but when I did I got my best et's with a 10.9et and a 1.51 60ft.
