wheels-tires

Hi I'm new to this post and I have a couple of questions. Does anyone know the biggest wheel and tire combo you can fit in the rear? ('89 Z-28). I seen in the march issue of Car Craft that a guy had a '91 Z-28 that had 8.5 wheels with 28x12.50 slicks, do these fit without any problems? Also what kind of back spacing? Thanks for any help.

I'm running 17x11's on my rearend with 315/35/17's and 6" offset.
I had to do a little masaging with a hammer
but it fit.
If you're drag racing I'd go with a 15x10" rim with 5.5" backspacing and 26x10.0-15 for tires.
That combo will definetly (99% sure) fit.

I can't say for sure but my best guess is around 1/2" at the most.

I think they'll tuck under completely though.

I run 295/50R16's on the stock IROC rims, they do not rub but I did have to work over the inner fender and they do not hang out of the fender at all, actually they are tucked in by about a 1/2-1 inch. I run 26x10.50's at the track...they look like sissy tires compared to my others. I can't decide to go with 325/50R15's hoosiers or the 335/35R17 route...who knows
