D or OD

I have heard that leaving the transmission in D rather than OD makes the factory trans shift firmer. Is this true?

This post really belongs in the Transmission forum. Yes, the tranny does shift firmer in D. It uses different valving than in OD. With the tranny in OD, I merely get a hard 1-2 shift. With it in D, I get a chirp and a little lurch to the side on the shift. Definite difference between D and OD.

I never felt a diff, I ran mine in OD at the track
