It's a process-drag racing

This one man's opinion is I don't know how many times I see a member new to drag racing asking how fast will he go.From my background it's a matter of first learning how to do the same things over and over again.Burnout the same with slicks, stage the same, leave on the same bulb, run the temp's on the engine the same, etc.Learning that first is key.Getting consistent on that first and then look at the car to see what opportunities in tuning, more mod's can be done.

So my suggestion is to honestly review yourself as a driver and groom yourself in the sport.

Re: It's a process-drag racing

I keep telling people that it depends on the driver. What it's capable of doing and what it's going to do with you driving it are 2 very different things.

I seriously pissed off my wife the first time she took her car to the dragstrip. I ran 2 seconds faster with her in the passenger seat then she could by herself in the same car on the same day (that's without my 300# in it), and even with _a lot_ of dragstrip passes under my belt and a pretty good clue what works, when I get in a new/different car it usually takes a few passes to get close to what it will run, and it might take a couple of trips to the track before I get the last 1/10 out of it.
