I am putting my 1le on a diet. Believe it or not my 1le came with power everything. And dealer installed a/c (at the previous owners request...moron)

This is what I've done so far. Taken out subwoofer, amp, spare tire and jack, all rear plastic and rear seat plastic interior pieces, removed rear carpet, removed rear seats, removed driver and passenger lower plastic pieces (near feet). What else can I do? The carpet was heavy as hell. At least 30lbs.I want to keep the carpet up front for now...but I may remove it. I also removed the cruise control and winshield washer resorvoir.

What do you intent to use the car for? Look in the archives for previous messages on weight removal. There's lots you can remove but it depends on what you want the car for. A street car can't remove as much weight as a race car can.

Best results before the 383 blew up

Best MPH on a time slip: 117.87 altitude corrected to 126.10
Altitude corrected rear wheel HP based on power to weight ratio: 476.5
Best 60 foot: 1.662

Racing at 3500 feet elevation but most race days it's over 5000 feet density altitude!

Well I definitely want it to be streetable. So a/c and front sway bar removal is definitely not for me. I searched the archives and i noticed you said the power door locks weigh 35lbs a door? Is this true? I was told it was around 1 pound.

The car is going to see a little track time, but I need it to keep it's handling capabilities too. I figured I've done most everything now. All that is left for me is probably a fiberglass hood. I already have the black lightweight gta wheels.

Any more ideas? Is it worth removing ALL of the carpet and then going with racing seats?
Thanks stephen
