DOES ANYBODY SEE A DISTINCT ADVANTAGE ON
THE TRACK BY SUBSTITUTING "OFF TRACK PIPE'
IN PLACE OF THE CAT CONVERTER.

The straight pipe would have less restriction on the exhaust than a catalytic converter would, but the car wouldn't be emissions legal anymore (if you still need the car for the street, inspections still shouldn't be too hard to get though. Worse comes to worse, just put the cat back on for those 10 mins the car's being inspected...)
