What drivetrain mods in SCCA street?
I’ve got a ‘89 Formula, TBI 305, automatic, 2.73 open rear, I want to run autocross with. I’m trying to figure out what class to start in; I would prefer street category if possible. I’ve read and researched the rules quite a bit. What is allowed for a car like mine? Can I swap to a 350 and 5 speed? Can I put 3.42 gears and a stock limited slip differential in it? Will any of those modifications bump me to a higher class or are they legal since they were all options available on 3rd gen F-Body?

Only option in street with an L98 would be with an automatic. You're looking at CAM or ESP if you want a 5-speed with a 350 TPI.
My advice would be to just run your car in Street and get experience for a year or two, then decide what direction you want to go in.
