Question on 0-60 foot times

Hi all, I have read that some people have under a 2 second 0-60 time.

What is the stock 0-60 times for a camaro? Meaning before suspention work and so forth. Im curious if lower controller arms and relocation brackets, good springs, shocks, struts, and wider tires make a huge diffrence, and if so, by how much?

Thanks!!

I think you may be confusing 60 foot times with actual 0-60 mph times. 60 foot times are judged at the track from the time the car leaves the staging beams to another set of beams 60 feet from that point. 0-60 times are the actual time your car is clocked from a dead standstill to when it reaches 60 mph (something you usually see in road and track, and many other magazines.)

0-60 times and 60 foot times all depend on traction, and how fast you can shift if you have a stick car. you can have a car with a lot of HP on street tires and spin the whole length of 60 feet, resulting in a number that is not true to the potential. That can also be the case in 0-60 mph times.

so i guess what im saying is there isnt really any particular 0-60 mph # you can put on our cars from the factory since everyone drives differently.

Hope this helps answer your question..

I have a Hotchkis rear suspension kit, with poly bushings on the rest of the rear, brand new shocks... and my 60 foot times are a consistent 2.26 on street tires with a little spin.

The upgrades did make a difference I could feel on the street, but I didn't take it to the strip until the work was already done.

stock i coudl get high 2.2's or low 2.3's, once i added spohn control arms, relo brackets and torque arm i was in the 2.0's on street tires, then i got the hoosiers and a biger torque convertor and cut low 1.9's consistantly
