454 MPFI Pics

I thought I'd share the progress of my 454 MPFI project. I'm using a 1990 - 1992 MAP sensor ECM with my own custom PROM programming.

Now that is awesome, how did you go about getting a MPFI on top of that motor?

Re: 454 MPFI Pics

The MPFI system is from a 1999 Suburban Vortec 454. I am using the 454 Vortec upper / lower, intake manifolds, and the Vortec fuel rails. The 1990 - 1992 Camaro speed density ECM is a batch fire system. I changed the PROM program to run a 454, instead of a 350.

Re: 454 MPFI Pics

Working on a deal to put the MPFI 454 into a Pickup. Might be an OK grocery getter? Those rear tire tubs might reduce the grocery capacity? I think it is very possible the Pickup with the 454 MPFI might be in first place getting out of the parking lot!

That is a sweet setup. It looked like it would be a really tight squeeze into a Thirdgen, but looks like it will fit with a bit more room in the truck.

Re: 454 MPFI Pics

The deal fell apart on the pickup and 454 MPFI. I'm going to try to sell the 454 MPFI engine at the Hot August Nights Swap Meet in Reno NV in early August. I am wondering if anyone would like to suggest a price I should ask for the complete engine and EFI system? I know 454's are not selling for "Big Buck" and I know the ecomony is weak.
