so... he's going to bring it back to his house and I'm gonna buy it.

the carb on it was a single barrel rochester
I'm going to find a spare 4 barrel intake and carb (or take the one off my camaro for awhile) and pick up some new gaskets before I go down there...

did I mention I'm buying it?

I'm going to the dark side for awhile...
but I'm keeping the 83 as a project car... that way I don't feel so bad about it...

I love my 83 but I need something to drive.
and this thing is black so I may as well jump at it.

it runs fine he just didn't know if he'd trust it for a trip up to monroe on the current carb.



But fear not my loves... if I get tired of it (and I'm sure I will) all parts I need for the Camaro will be removed and the bird will be parted out ... I just need something to drive and since its an f-body I may as well go for it

sure beats the hell outta the 85 Z i was looking at before... performance wise anyway

but I need something to drive and I refuse to drive anything BUT an F-Body or a Chevy truck...

it'll be nice to be on the road ****ing PERIOD... I've had the camaro for a year and a half and it hasn't gone anywhere...

brand new tranny, brand new clutch, brand new shifter and I've put a whole 50 miles on it (that INCLUDES the shop miles when they installed those three parts in November) ... now it has a new distributor (most of it) ...

I'm gonna leave that thing parked... project, YAY!! and it WON'T be one on wheels ... I can take my time with it

I may steal the carb, intake, and distributor from it though...as well as plugs and wires.... then put the hood back on it, seal that thing int he roof, put a tarp on it and call it good for now...

I'm still going to wanna drive the camaro though....

So... I'm going to probably buy another intake manifold, 550 or 600 cfm edelbrock carb and another distributor kit from pertronix and put them on the bird...

other than that I'm going to leave the bird exactly the way it is...

Anyone know anyone who wants to buy an RX7? that guy is selling one...and a caddy too

It's not very driveable. Would have never made it to Monroe. The carb is fine. Motor runs bad though. Has a V6 radiator in it and I jacked the car up and it didn't look like it had a posi in it. The rear has ASTRO in yellow written on the rear. I jacked it up and turned the wheel. Only one wheel turned and I seriously doubt it has a 4.11:1 in it. But if you want the car I will sell it for what he was asking for it. As far as making it a daily driver, not easy in my opinion. I
do feel bad about taking it from under you. But it could have easily gone to someone else and neither of us would get it. It's still yours if you want it.

Calm down. Actually I did you a favor. If you want it that bad it's yours. You'll be doing more to this car than you think. Needs a new motor to be blunt about it. Would barely run on the freeway and smoked all the way. Threw oil all over the engine compartment, now it's dripping on the floor in my garage and it runs hot at 240 degrees. So I guess if you put new rings in it (Oh yeah, knocks real bad too <-- forgot about that) and do a vale job, then yes it would be a decent daily driver.
