guys... :(
I was doing my spark plugs last night. Only got the drivers side done, because the #7 was giving me sooo much trouble. Was tough turning it all the way out, and putting the other one in it kept tightening then popping out. I took a break and tried one last time and it went in. I tightened it really good, threw on the wire, and started it up, but there was a ticking like a wire was bad. I gave up and went inside.
Today I decided to grab some Taylor wires and forget about it. Putting a wire on the #7 spark plug, the spark plug falls out to the ground. Did someone cross thread the damn thing? What can I do??

Helicoil makes a specific insert for repairing stripped plug holes...is called a KEENSERT....a one piece steel insert...you retap the hole larger an install this piece, ....can be done with the head in place...just gotta be careful.

I somehow got the plug in today without it falling out and it seemed to go in okay, and the car is running decent. I'm not too confident about the condition of those threads though. So I'm thinking in the future I will have to repair it. Do you think it'd be very difficult to put a helicoil in the #7 spark plug hole? Actually all of them would be a pain in the *** , but I had to get underneath the car to even put it in handtight because of the lack of space.
I think I'll leave it to a shop when I get some extra money, instead of wrecking the head. Should I pay more than $50? Thanks for the reply.

Hi matlock,
Your right, I forgot how tight the workspace is in there, I have heard about plug change nightmares before on the 3rd gens. Im probably going to get hung by my toenails for saying this.......JB Weld......there I said it lol. I hope somebody can back me up here, it looks like you will have to remove the head to do the job right. But in the mean time I would put a thin bead of jb weld about 1/2" wide on the top portion of the threads of the plug and stab it in.
That should hold you untill you have time to do it right.
