It's alive!

Finally got my car back together after fixing the blown head gasket and doing the cam swap. Would have been done sooner if a little something called 'work' didn't get in the way

My dad and I got it running on the weekend. I guess the machine shop got a bunch of cutting fluid on the exhaust manifolds because they were smoking like crazy when it started up. Some guys going door-to-door selling coupons or something showed up just when the smoke alarm started going off. They looked a bit worried, and one of them said 'Uhhh... we'll come back in a bit'. I think they thought the car was on fire.

Then I backed the car onto the street and realized that I didn't have any brakes. Uh-oh. A quick look around found that I forgot to hook up the power brake vacuum line. Heheh.

Now the only problem is one of my fans isn't working. I think it stopped working a while ago, I just didn't notice it. Does anyone know of a junkyard with lots of thirdgens that is open on Saturday in the Vancouver area? Or maybe someone that has an extra fan motor they want to sell me?

Btw, anyone know which fan comes on first on a dual fan setup? The big one (pass side) or small one (driver side).

Sweet dude! Glad to hear you got it back on the road. My friend and I did the same thing on his 84 T/A when we replaced his Valve cover gaskets and forgot to hook up the vacuum line, we backed up, and hes like.. ****!!! No Brakes! Kinda funny at the time...

Try Ralphs on Scott road, they have a few, also the one farther down the road called a-central(I think)has a few.
Try A-Central first they have much better customer service,Ralphs sucks in that department.

Haha, I'm a dumbass. I was complaining about this to my mom, and she says, 'Well, you have another perfectly good Firebird sitting here on my driveway that you're trying to sell. Just take the fan from that.'

Oh, duh. Hopefully the motor from the V6 will work as one of my dual fans in the Formula. If not I'll head to the yards this Saturday.
