Auto-X pic!!! (big)

Hooray! Someone took a pic of me while I was auto-xing today. I was just coming out of a box and going into a slalom. Spinning the tires as usual... I couldn't get any traction out there. But it was waaaay to much fun. I'd love to get Thirdgen.Org representing at an auto-x in the spring/summer.

I started off running 55.0 seconds. Doh! DNF on my second run, I thought I was in a straighaway when I wasn't . Then I ran a 49.something.

After lunch, with my McDonalds power I ran 48.something, then 47.5, then 47.1. The track was starting to dry out then, plus I was starting to get the hang of it.
I didn't see any pics of Mike, but I'll post them up if I see them. I hear that one of my runs is videotaped, so maybe someone will post that... hint hint.

If you have a look here http://www.physics.ubc.ca/~phcheng/AutoX/
you can see various pics.

Some cool cars that showed up:

'99 911 Turbo - last of the aircooled.
me and Mike in our 'Firechickens'
Lots of turbo MR2's
Turbo Miata with a *loud* blow-off valve

They don't really have a website, but somehow it gets rented. It's a runway at Boundary Bay airport. Planes are taking off on the next runway, and the RCMP driver training is nextdoor... so we have to be good. Heheh.

http://www.ubcscc.com is a good site to check out, or the Vancouver Chinese Motorsport Club (don't remember the address off the top of my head).
