Nice site. But it's too dark. Can't read it.
I hate to bitch. But it really is too dark.

This link is unreadable. The second message in green is impossible to read. Unless I hit ctrl+A then I can read it fine. Cool site though.

The problem we have run into is that with the black background we cannot run a darker text or a lot of stuff really disappears. I want to stick w/ a green and black theme, being it fits the PNW better, and I couldn't find better colors.
The only option would be to go white, but I am not sure how that would work.

Gotta say that's going to be a cool web site.
Don't change the index page. It looks great! The green text in the forum areas is REALLY hard to read though. Also, how do we add topics to the FOR SALE section?

I would have thought the first message forum would have been a general chat type thing.

There... I helped populate the FOR SALE section.
You guys got about 3 weeks before I move if you want to snag any of that stuff... and I could really use the money too.
You guys got about 3 weeks before I move if you want to snag any of that stuff... and I could really use the money too. Whatever colors you decide to go with, they just have to be easy on the eyes and not clash. You could always just lighten the colors up. Dark websites are user unfriendly.
Just my 2 pennies. I'm done. Out...

Yes, but dont we also have members in Oregon and Canada?

And like Brad said, dark (as in color, no nature Aaron
) are user unfriendly. If I have to squint my eyes, or **** with settings on my monitor to read, I wont spend to much time there, I think one of the reasons this site among alot of other UBBs are so successful is the fact that they are easy to read with light colors.Black and Dark green just dont work well together when you add text on top of them.
Just my .02 cents

That's what I thought...
BTW, that green is just plain nasty on my laptop : puke : Here is a link to a simple 216 color chart I have. I have an every color chart (haven't completed it yet, but it is quite detailed) also if you want it. Oh yeah, and yes I do like and appreciate the changes you made!

As of now, the colors stay the same, no bitching, and no changing. Lightening the colors lead to major major problems w/ the text color.
A light blue w/ a black background, what color do you think the text should be? White, no... won't show on the light blue... black... nope, won't show on the black background, light grey, no, same problem, dark grey, no, same problem, green, well, you guys hate green.
I do not want a white background on the page, I also own a laptop, I do not see the color problem, and my LCD screen is just as crappy as anyone's.
The storm VGA font could work, but same problems, basically. Mostly it would be changing green to purple...

Not to mention a lighter green looks like *** , I already tried it trust me. Thanks for the color chart Lance, but I already have a link for a web safe palet with HEX and RGB values.

Thought so... I know we didnt put alot of money into the server, and you are running it, but being so stone headed on anyone's suggestions might turn people off from visiting.

And no one should get me wrong here, I am quite happy with the fact that you little buggers are spending your time on the site and making upgrades and everything...

I agree with Joe on this one guys. It's an F-body site. Cascade Crew. not Firebirds only. And you are being a bit bull headed with the color scheme. but wutever. peace out.

Yes its an F-body club, but that doesn't mean that only having one car on the main page disrepresents the other half of the F-body... Bet no one would be bitching if it was a Camaro there and not a Firebird.
The single car keeps a clean and simple look and Doug did a lot of work doing a mouse over script with it and I highly doubt it will change. Nearly every other 3rd gen site has a Camaro on their front, not a Firebird or both but just a Camaro... I don't know whats up with you guys but Doug and I had the page displayed side by side on a laptop and a desktop monitor and it looked fine, color scheme goes well with the PNW... Glad everyone appreciates the work we put into the site so much
And personally I thought the blue looked horid.

LOL, I think Blue agreed w/ the fact about the blue text looking nasty. Joe was chatting with me as I did it, he asked me to. Seriously, it was a half hour of changing bg, text, and form colors and when I went back to the original (light grey text) it was a relief because that was by far the best looking one.
I am not being stone headed about the front page, do you guys happen to remember the original 3GO design? ONE CAMARO on the front, only thing Firebirds had was a pontiac symbol or a Firebird logo, I can't remember which, but there was no Firebird on the front page. How is this any different?
Douglas

BTW, still go to 3GO, and see how many Firebirds you see on the main page. One Camaro in the banner, and I hit reload 6 times, know what the ratio was of Camaros to Firebirds? 5:1! So, the chances of a Firebird loading are low, so about 70+% of the time all that page has is a Firebird logo.
Yeah, I am being a **** head about this, but I am tired of people complaining there is no Camaro on the page. Look at the ****ing page and tell me it isn't a sweet picture of a clean Thirdgen! How does that not represent Thirdgens?? Because I didn't put one of each model? WTF? How ever said one of each model was required to respresent Thirdgens? Why don't I have to put a 82-84 of each, a 85-90 of each, then a 91/92 Firebird, and oh, gotta keep it even, so a 91/92 Camaro. I tried at first to page the page look good w/ 5 cars, 3 Firebirds and 2 Camaro, but it looked like crap and didn't do what I wanted it to. Then I decided to do one car, and I think the 85-90 Trans Am/GTAs are the favorite looking ars of most Thirdgeners, if not #1, then #2 on most peoples list.

Yeah, I was kiddin' about the blue thing, I was just defending my name
The birdy on the main page looks real nice to me, and I don't have a problem with it. I agree that firebirds get the short end on many websites, so go for it. Just so long as the crew is well represented overall (and I can read the pages with my old fogey eyesite [its 15/20 btw]), you won't hear me complain.

Sites good. Don't change anything. Props to you 2 guys for all the hard work etc that went into the website. You guys are the webmasters (I guess) so do whatever the hell ya want with it.

I can't imagine doing an f-body site and not including both cars.
Just because George's site looked like **** is no reason to copy him. Or are you just trying to alienate the Camaro owners in the Crew? Oh well, its your site, do whatever you want with it.

well there's a simple solution. Don't like it, don't go. I really could care less what's on the front page, but honestly. 1 Firebird, nothing else. there isn't even a real car board. Don't get me wrong the site looks nice but still. it lacks a few things in my opinion. just my .02, and i'm done talking about it. peace out

What is up with everyone critising their hard work.
they put their time in making this and the shoul get a big pat on the back for the work. that said, i think the site looks great, but it would be nice to have another forum or 2, maybe a general lounge type forum, and a gathering forum. those are just a couple of ideas that i think would make the site more of a home for all of the cascade crew, and still allow us to stay at thirdgen for all our car needs.
and once again, great job with the site guys, keep up the good work, and remeber if you need any help with anything let me know, or feel free to ask me any questions.

This is the last thing I'll say on this subject. The Cascade Crew website should represent all of the CC members. Half of those members drive Camaros. But, you're right, I don't have to go there.
The site does represent all members. All memebers are welcome. Who gives a **** what kinda third gen is on the front page. It looks good! Couldn't have done it beter myself...less is more!!

Methinks John has the feeling that... unlike TGO/3GO/TAGTA/Camaro.com/CZ28/NZ2G/NCTGA etc ... Cascade Crew is about 50/50 with its Camaro to Firebird ratio... and since its a board for the members of CC and basically whoever else is there is there because they're just passing through or whatever... that the Camaro half of CC is just sorta left high and dry since there is no representation...
and in a way... I see it... but for now I'm going to live with it since I'm probably not going to be driving my Camaro much ifn I can get the truck I've been looking at when I get back from AZ... (and hopefully in doing so, adding another Camaro to the CC fray
)
And to touch up on what Doug said about 3GO ... there are actually quite a few Firebirds in that thing... George is redoing it because he wants more members rides in it... maybe you should get the people who own firebirds on that site to send pictures to him ...
and the original logo with just the white vert ... the reasoning for that was because there wasn't a firebird that was able to rival that picture in quality the way he wanted it...
just some loose change... I'm going to work now (hopefully)

(But, we should have put a GTA on the front page, that way we alienate everybody.
)BTW, nice work on the site. It's not THAT much of an eyesore; I just hit Edit -> Select All, and it comes up just fine, so I work around it...Glad to see there's a (more or less) non-tech board where we can be more NE3Gish without worrying about our posts getting locked/deleted.

Uh.... what is this argument really about?
You know how much it matters? This much (). Notice the void.
Maybe a solution is to have a feature car on the front page every month. But you know what my solution would be? All the ungrateful little turds shut their pie holes.
Thanks, Jess and Doug (and anybody else who helped), for making a page where we can all hang out. I don't care what it looks like... I don't care what pictures are there... I don't care what colors are used... The fact is there is a forum where we can all post and do things not available here at TGO.
Also, I can't seem to post in the General Discussion forum. Let me know what the problem is.

Yeah it is
Doug set the forum to admin/mod access only and the description says it is hosted here

The reason for that was I needed to board to play with, the reason it doesn't allow anyone to post is because there is no reason for anyone to post on it. I need to create the link... which is a PAIN!

P.S. IMHO, you need to have both cars on the page bro. If not actual pictures, logo's of both just like I have on 3GO.

Check your message board buddy, no Firebird anything just the Camaro... Not that I care I think the board looks great and cluttering it could ruin the look... Camaro's get 95% of all F-body attention be it web sites or magazine articles but no one seems to care untill g0d forbid a Camaro isn't spotlighted like always...
Yeah, like George said and you and I were talking Jess we (the firebird owners) are the minority, more people own camaro's. *shrug* Doesnt bother me to much
But, dont forget that George did own a 88 Trans Am, and I know he misses it because when I told him Id let him drive mine (since they are really similar to each other) he about wet himself.

Anyway, you say there are alot of Camaro's on the site. The reason there are alot of Camaro's is simply due to the fact that there arn't many graphics that I can invert that look clear. If you look at the forum over at 3GO, you'll see the images and know what I mean.

Hugsssss
