Update on Gold Beach trip

Well, there are definatley some potential crew members in Gold Beach! 2 red firebirds (1 was a 91/92), 1 white Z28, 1 red Z28 and 1 grey RS. I also found a totaled black Z28 that has my wheels on it so I'm going to have to check into that more...

So, we left Seattle on Wednesday night and stayed in Reedsport. Passed thru Langlois and looked for Joe's car on the way. We were going to flag you down or stop if we saw ya, Joe! Got to Gold Beach around 11 AM and started looking at properties. We looked at about 6 houses on Thursday and the duplex we've had our eye on. Outside of the duplex, we saw nothing that we HAD to have. Friday was much of the same. So Saturday, we made an offer on the duplex!!! We are sure the owner will counter offer but we will accept regardless. I'll have to get pictures up of it. It's an immaculate and roomy place, with an ocean view, of course. Although, it's not the 2700 sq. ft. I have currently so I'll be getting rid of some stuff.

The weather was beautiful. The air was clean. The sunsets were amazing and the people as friendly as we hoped. I made friends with the local seals and have vowed to feed the Jetty Cats at least once a week. They have 4 shops in Gold Beach, so Curt will not have a problem getting a job, especially when he told one shop manager he was master certified. The guy just kinda stood there stunned. Must be an uncommon thing there. However, Curtis's Uncle is purchasing a commercial lot in Bandon that they will conduct business on, so he's hoping he won't be a mechanic for very long.

So, that's the scoop on our trip. We will be putting our house on the market at the end of June and will be permanent residents in Gold Beach by August. And I'll tell you what, I cannot wait to get far, far away from this hell hole they call Seattle. I started packing as soon as we got home last night.

Awesome!

You have to go check out Frankport next time you are down.. its about halfway between Port Orford and GB... actually was used as a Pirates Cove waaaaay back a long time ago, very cool place.

As far as seeing my car, the only way that would have happened is if you had come to my house.... its parked right now because of the tranny... so Im 3rdgen-less right now.

If you went thru "Denmark" and saw Llamas on the west side of the road, you saw my place.

But.. did you say Sunsets and Scenery?

When ya planning on coming down this way again?

Also.. wheeeeeeen are you ever on MSN!

Hey Joe,

What camera do you use? I know your digital. Dad's looking into digitals right now and your pics look awesome. You should have some of those published somewhere.

So Summer, you looking to buy the whole duplex, or just one side? If you buy the whole thing, maybe I should rent the other half from you j/k. I wish I could get out of Portland too.

I will have to check out Frankport for sure! I told Curtis about it and he's very interested. I thought I saw llamas on the east side, so Denmark must be a town of llama farmers, eh?

Lance - We are purchasing the entire duplex. And the land it sits on. We plan on living in one side and renting the other out until we find the perfect house. Then, we will rent both sides out.

Curt's uncle was interested in commercial property initially in Bandon, but I guess he went to GB yesterday and looked at the Ophir Grange in Nesika Beach that we had provided him info on and he bought it!! Cashed out at $399,000.00! It's a cool beach front property and quite perfect for a gathering. Huge building and tons of parking.

Edit: Oh, Joe I usually get on MSN in the morning. Afternoons and evenings are too busy for me!

If you were in the area of Denmark and saw llamas on the east side thats news to me!

And yeah, Nesika Beach is a really pretty area! How do you like 101 between Port Orford and GB? It sucks during the winter, but during the summer its a FUN road.... especially Humbug Canyon. But 42S is the best road around here bar none.... If we had a gathering down here again, we would all have to check that road out as a crew.

EDIT - Chevymad: The camera I have now is a Sony FD92... its a dual media camera, so I can use memory sticks, and 3.5" disks too. Very cool camera, I like it
