So shiny Hey I was gonna do some ghost flame setup with an RS in front just like you have on your car lol! Except mine was gonna be at the bottom. The guy who painted my car drew a sketch of how it was gonna look. And believe it or not, it looked exactly like the one you have on your door!!! I'm wondering if he got the idea from your car now lol! Maybe he's seen it before. Anywayz, I never got it done cause time was an issue. Man, your car is clean!! You gotta let us know when you can drive again. Laterz.

Nice. I just picked up some eagle 1 wax-as-you-dry crap from checker. (Free with sunday coupons plus case of oil which is also on sale.)

I wanted to get my car shiny for once also, but it was cloudy all day and I knew as soon as I backed her out of my garage it'd start raining. Spent all day finding more and more problems on my truck... so I just gave up on both vehicles today.

Let us know when you're all legal and reliable!

Laters,
Scott

DUDE, like, you got no hatch space! Oh well, neither do I, I've got that thing filled up with tools and junk (I even have an unopened MRE sitting in there, in case I break down in the middle of nowhere) but I like having what LITTLE trunk space the idiot designers gave us. Looks pretty cool though. Custom sub-box, or was it pre-fab?

The sub box, or the amp box?

To make a long story short, I got into a motorcycle accident on May 31st 2003, a year ago. It is coming up on the 1 year anniverserary.

I spent 3 months in a coma, that was weird. I lost about 1 months worth of short term memmory. So its almost like I lost 4 months.

I suffered a severe brain injury. The doctors do not even understand how it is that I am doing what i'm doing. I keep on impressing them. So I have to take another drivers test, like a full on, like the whole deal, written and driving.

I have been told that it could take 2 years before I was able to go back to work. I'll be working by July.

I should be taking the driving test in few weeks now.

... is there a busa under that pile of charred remains?! And when's the funeral for the rider.. no way he got clear of that.

You should so be dead, man... that's nuts.

Ewww, that's nasty. My senior year of high school I got in a pretty nasty wreck. Pulled out in front of a 65mph S10. I wasn't comatose, but I don't remember anything from shortly before the accident (Dec 18 or so) 'til just after new years. Traumatic brain injury. Spent a week in the ICU and then about a month in inpatient physical therapy. Lost the use of my left leg for a while, but it came back slowly (it's almost normal, now). It looks like you got a worse deal than I did, but I feel your pain. I had to wait six months before they would let me test to drive again. I was nervous as damnit, but I did well enough.

Ouch man... glad you're alright now! I had no idea!

Hey Ian, there is a lot of space in thirdgens, even with tools and survival supplies, the hatch lets us fit things that we really shouldn't be able to in such a small car. The only things I can't haul around in my car are (car) body parts and suspension or drivetrain stuff. (I could hardly stuff two tires in there and still see.) That's what the truck is for, but the only other time I can't fit things are when it's just too much stuff. I like being able to fit a surfboard or skis in my car, even though I don't own either or do either!

If you use the small space well, you can have the best of both worlds. Use the side compartments for your sub and amps, or nitrous, or tools, and you still have a full hatch for hauling or graceries! I keep all my "for-the-road" tools in the spare tire well. You can't fit a real spare in there anyway, plus you should always have AAA or something. (If no roadside service, at least carry MRE's, right Ian? I carry cans of soda, hehe.)

Laters,
Scott

It aint a busa dude, I would be dead if it was, but its pretty close, it was a GSXR 750. Same brand.

I sort of know how you feel thoe, the only ill effects of the accident are. My left arm was injured, so the nerves are still healing, but very slowly. I can't really use my left arm to do anything precise yet.

I have a steel rod in my left leg, cause I completely shattered it. Thats about it.

I just finished therepy, I had 2 months of everyday therapy when I was at the Rehab hospital. Then for about 1 month I had in home therapy. Then I was able to get in and out of the van fairly proficciantly, so I started outpaitent therapy.

I just finished that about 2 weeks ago. I have gotten to the point that I no longer need any therapies. woohoo

So the past year I bascally missed. I mean I was only out for 3 months, technically, but you gotta acoout for all the healing time. Witch I have been contantly told "I can not believe how far you have come" "It must be a mircle" so i'm like, "Yup i'm the mircle kid"

Also, leave the rear seats unbolted so you can easily toss them out or move them to fit even more stuff in there. You won't ever notice that the two bolts are missing, unless you've been jumping a lot of ramps lately. I also throw cd's or financial papers underneath when I don't want them lying around the car if I just have to step out for a sec.

I've fit all kinds of things in my 'bird, as well as 5 passengers somehow... okay there were all young women but it was still 6 people in an f-body. I can't even fit more than one guy in my car, but that's already one too many for my taste. =)

I hear you on that. I have fit 5 people in the car including myself. Me, my friend, his sister and two of her friends. On more than 1 ocassion.

Then somehow I managed to get 4 adults squeezed in their once, not including myself. After the Reel Big Fish concert in 2002 I got my other friend David, his gf Betty, my gf at the time Liz, and her sister Katy.

So Betty, Liz, and Katy were all in the back seats.
Too bad I didn't have a camera on me, it would have made a good shot.

Damn I hate reading about motorcycle accidents like that. I'm glad you're OK man. I know a bunch of people that ride (or used to), but only a few have never been in accidents. I've heard many near death experiences. There's a reason the nickname for bike riders in Hawaii is "organ donors". Let me guess, someone else wasnt paying attention and you ended up getting hurt? Thats how most of these accidents happen to people I know. Someone else on the road isn't paying attention and cause the accident. A lot of people in Hawaii drive stupid. I remember once riding with my dad when I was 10 yrs old (holding on tight! haha) and some lady in a Jag doing her makeup started slowly changing lanes into our lane. Retarded stuff like that. I have friends that ride with a handfull of wheel bearings in a pouch on their belt. If someone almost kills them on the road (and most drivers apparently dont seem to notice what they just did) they speed up and chuck the bearings at the car as they pass. The dense metal will instantly shatter glass at any speed, so yeah pretty much blows out every window on the car and the driver flips out. Hows that for retaliation LOL

Oh, that dosn't look too good dood.

I have no idea what happened, my friend who was riding with me was in front of me, all he heard was the bike blow up, yes I did catch on fire, I have nice scars on my stomach.

I'm thinking the guy was crossing into my lane, cause the place where the crash happened I do not see how anything else could have happened. Oh well, its way tooo damn late now. Plus the fact that I do not remember what happened, and my friend was in front of me, so he does not know. Leads me to the conclusion that he crossed into my lane.

I was asking about BOTH, actually. I like the amp box, though for the Bowtie. But the sub box, was that a special build so it dropped right in the hatch space, or what?

Mark305TBI, I'm assuming you were t-boned. Was there a passenger in the car?

Yeah, one sitting shotgun and one in the back. We all survived. Guy sitting shotgun broke his leg and his arm, guy in the back crawled out the back window without a scratch. I was the only one with a seatbelt on.

Actually I designed and built the amp box. Took me about 2-3 days, lots of hard work.

The sub box I bought at car stereo express on Kamehameha near Circut City kinda. I added the grab handels to it so it would make eaiser for me to take. But it is so heavy it didn't help much, without those I would never be able to pull it out.

Cool. I'm not a big fan of tunes (a little is good, a lot is ear-crushing and thus not wanted) but I always value good handywork. I like the paint, we'll have to ge together so we can see it in person - even though my car is the WORST looking one out of the bunch... At least Scott's car is still one whole color.

How much was that sub box? I try to keep all my system stuff below the cover for the back so I don't have to worry about it all disappearing one day at the mall... The setup I have sits highenough out of the well though so I can put my t-tops in back without the bag and have them sit tight enough so they don't rattle. Glad to hear your all right btw.

First of all, thank you!

And to answer your question, I got the sub box for a really, really good deal. It Is 3/4 mdf the dude wanted 150 for it, and in my mind, "I was like okay", but the business sence in my took charge, and I was like will you take a $100 for it, and it took a little while, but I eventuallly put it into my car for a $100 bucks. I don't think they were selling alot, in fact I may have been 1 of the firsts to buy 1 from them.

If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask them.

I think he picked that up here in hawaii or somewhere far enough from NH that it wouldn't be a very good option for you.

lol you almost sound hostile in that post. anyway though, yes the shipping from here will utterly destroy anyone on the mainland who's looking to buy stuff from us, and vice versa, in the end however, we almost always get shafted by high shipping prices because we live in like the 2nd most isolated spot on the planet or something like that.

You talkin' to me? Are you talking to me?!

Yeah, I always sound like a jackass when I type because I can't convey the way I'm saying something in writing... unless you use those stupid smiley faces. Where's that "my bad" one at?...

Laters,
Scott
