Wheel spacers

Anyone have a set of 2 inch wheel spacers they wanna sell off cheap... Or atleast reasonably? My neighbor is willing to sell me his 98 Z28 stock wheels, but since the offset is different he won't sell them to me untill he is sure they will fit. I have told him that they will with the spacers no problem, but he wants to see it. Guess he doesn't wanna have me come back to him later if they didn't, though I wouldn't anyhow. I would just sell them off. So anyhow, lemme know what you guys have or don't. Thanks! L8RS!

None of the spacers I have seen yet on line have been anywhere near that high. If I had to pay that much I would not. The car didn't cost that. LOL..... L8RS!

I got my adapters from Andris, his website is www.skulte.com. I recommend adapters over spacers because the adapters have their own lugnut studs making them just as strong as the stock setup. A slip on spacer goes over the stock studs putting more of the stress on the edges (not good). If you do decide to go with a spacer then consider upgrading the stock studs. I only needed 2 adapters for the rear of my drift car (2" adapters for corvette wheels), it was $149 + shipping, forget the total. Great quality. You could get away with using only 2 adapters in the front if you swapped over to a 4th gen F-Body rearend.

Yeah, I guees what I have actually been looking at online was adapters, not spacers. They bolt to the existing lug nuts and then have their own lugs on the to mount the new wheel. I have found them made of billet aluminum for as little as $75 a pair, and I would need 2 pair at this point. Thanks guys!

Even at 149 a pair + shipping $50+ youre still looking at $400 for a set of 4....

I'd do more research on the ebay seller...

Is your math way off or mine? Cause at $150 a pair, even with $50 shipping is only $200 for a set of four. But shipping is $12.50 a set, making shipping $25. So $175. His feedback looks good as well.

But yeah I know what you mean about people not shipping here for whatever reason. There is some idea out there that Hawaii is not part of the U.S. or some crap. I swear they think that they have to fill out a customs declaration or something. Who knows. I have bought and sold plenty on Ebay over the past five years, and have only had one bad experiance.

Price is per pair if you go thru SKULTE...

86 per pair is OK, but I would do more research...

Oh ok, yeah I have looked at the prices for theirs also, but don't really see a big difference in product to warrant the extra cash. I'm gonna look into it though and see a bit more. You know something I don't? If so lemme know. L8RS!

Just saying be cautious is all.

I see the adapters do not have the hub-centric guides on them like the VB ones do.

However, on some applications, the rings need to be removed or milleed slightly to clear the snout of the brake rotor.

Just sharing my experiences...

Wish I had a pic...

the adaptors fit exactly to the axle flange... ID to OD... but from the adaptor to the wheel there is nothing... now, under most situations, they are not really needed... the main thing is assuring the wheels are true with the axle both radially and laterally...

Shawn's use of these spacers is the most extreme.... and he doesnt have problems... so I guess it should be good...

Like I said.. sharing my experiences/opinions/concerns...

The spacers are proven to work... but you dont know what youre getting until you get it IF you are buying from an untested source... but in that same respect, the items may actually be built by the same parent company, and the distribution channels are where the actual difference is........

Ohhhhh, OK I get it now. I read through the sellers feed back, and everything seemed good. There were many happy people who recieved spacers from them as well. Thanks for the advice, and help.

Personally, I don't trust wheel spacers and won't use them.

Correct-fitting wheels directly to the hub with acceptable backspacing is the safest, most reliable mounting.

I believe that to be the safest but I feel that the spacers will be fine. So long as I am not racing or what not, I really only drive it on post, never really past 35mph.

On another not, Ed do you still have that grill for sale? I would like to take a look and more than likely pick it up after the 1st of Dec if so. Thanks again!

Yup I used to feel like this too. But then I saw Revlimit using them to drift, kind of gave me some confidence. So I'm gonna try it with my drift car, see what happens. I hope nothing bad happens

When these adapters first came out in the 80's, I was one of the first here to use them in Hawaii... I had 16" Vette wheels on my 84 S10 Blazer with a V8 conversion (1988)... Towed the trailer with it, hauled all kinds of crap in it, no problems... I am sold on the reliability of the ones I have purchased... I havent tried the others, so I cannot speak for them...

I am gonna prbably look into after the holidays as the draw strings on the wifes purse will be tight untill then, lol. But yeah I will definately let everyone know how they are. On another note I finally started the body work on this hoopty. Now maybe it will be worthy of some new wheels and tires.. Hahaha, anyhow.

Spacers vs Adapters

I understand the using adapters is safer since the adapter bolts directly on the rotor & built in lugs (in the adapter) are used to hold your wheels on. No problem with short studs this way.
