Looking for......

Hey all. Hows ever bodies weekend going. Well some of you know that it is tax season ( if you do not, well maybe you do not have a job and do not care) and if you are lucky your pockets got a bit heavier than lighter.

Sooo. I was think, what do I need for the camaro.....
Okay besides a safety check, if you know any relaxed place please point me in that direction.

If any of you have the following or know where to go for a good price. New or in good shape.

Hood & trunk shocks. If it did not look weird, I would just do reps with my hood for my daily work out.

Break pads. Yeah I know, anywhere. but price & what about the ceramics???

Rotors. Mine are fine, but maybe slotted or drilled or both for that matter.

springs & Shocks/struts. Stock height just is not me I guess. I had eibachs & KYBs on the 88 and it was nice.

Exhaust, yeah this should be at the top of the list. I have straight pipe & I think some type of resonator. Came like that. Well it is loud. Not that loud is bad, I do make people jump when I start her up & the kids go running. But the fact the I can freak people out when I go by them with there window up, radio on with their ac on max. I even shut up two street bikes that where behind me that where revving.

Headers. Just a thought if the price was right.

seats. I know some one had a set of 4th gen, that would be nice. I am just not found of the 3rd gen seats. For that matter my driver seat is motorized so if anybody is interested in the pair if I get different ones let me know. Your typical wear on the driver side.

Third break light. The top inside of the hatch. well just the lenses. Light works, it just has a hole in the middle of it like is was left on for every or something.

last maybe some front fender, passenger side. But cosmetics if not a real big factor of mine. But I know I am not going to have her painted anytime soon. So black if you have. I guess that one is just a big ??

was thinking about engine stuff, but not to sure. Any thoughts would be nice.

Well that is it for know. Thanks in advance for all your help and input. Just post, so everybody can share in the knowledge

i've got headers with the y-pipe if you're interested. i'll get back to you on what brand they are. i also have an entire exhaust setup with a flowmaster muffler. you gotta just figure out how to hook it up on the catalytic converter side cause it's cut off a little after it. not sure on the condition of the muffler though. i'll post pics soon.

I have an extra set of grey 4th gen seats in good condition that I'll swap if your seats are black or sell if they're not.

Oh forgot about the 91-92 3rd brake light -- the very hot halogen bulb eventually melts the red plastic and decays the reflector bulb mount. When the brake light stopped working in my 92, it was because the electrical contacts lost tension with the bulb, due to the plastic holder falling apart from heat damage. So I modified a lower-wattage incandescant hood light bulb and metal holder to fit inside inside the reflector. It's quite bright and has been problem-free for the past three years. If you like, I can post the photo series, here's one of the images. The red plastic panel can be fixed with epoxyed inserts from a broken tail light, or search on eBay...

Well, the are gray sides with black middle. Currently they have a solid black seat covers, the driver side has the normal wear on it along with the seat cover & it is motorized. They look like this. I do not know if the head rest is black, as I have never took the seat covers. The pic if from Hawks.

Swap would be great, if you like my seats. I can even throw in some movie passes.

I believe my exhaust is 3 if not more from manifolds to tip no cat. I am kind of lame in this area, would the headers bolt right up to what I have?? Anything extra I would need to get. Any shop that would do it for a nice price. I really can not have my car down for more than a day at a time.

Thanks

Avoid brake rotors that are "brand X" as they're prone to excessive runout, cracking and loose tolerances. Stick with a good American-made product, like Raybestos. I installed these Brutestops on the '92 Z-28 and they're awesome. Checkers has them, most likely special order.

Raybestos BR6995L
Brake Rotor: Brutestop; Rear; Left; Rotor Only
1 Year Limited Warranty Ships in 3 days
Weight: 14 lbs. $59.99

Raybestos BR6995R
Brake Rotor: Brutestop; Rear; Right; Rotor Only
1 Year Limited Warranty
Weight: 14 lbs. $59.99

I'm not a big fan of lowering 3rdGens, I'd rather go fast, heh.

Hey Leo, how's the car? It's a full on straight pipe, no cats but 3", I previously had an SLP exhaust system on it, but the muffler fell apart. I redid the rear brakes in January of 2005, so you should only have to worry about the front ones.

Well, I believe that car is the loudest thing I have really ever heard. It can scare kids, the elderly, and even full grown adults.

I kinda miss that... LS1's just don't sound good.

Heh, that's pretty funny ... when he drove over to my place last week to swap the seats, I could hear the car coming about a mile away. Dogs were howling, flocks of birds flew out of the trees, and as the black monster with 100% tint on the windows rumbled to a stop in my driveway, parents ran out their houses pulling children to safety. Definately a 'bad boy' Camaro...

Fast, only when I have room to run. Will need those front pads soon.
I did eat up a civic the other day. I guess she still has something in her. So I guess the bad boy image is there, but me no, well my wife might say different.
And she is a still a daily driver Diamond Head to Kaneohe. I never thought I would own one, but after I got the 88 & now. I love the car.

Hey all I am still looking for the stuff above. Any thoughts.

On the springs, there is Zenn springs, the one post I found the guy did not like them, has anybody else heard about them + or -
Or sprint springs, link to ebay above.
Thunder racing has Eibach, panhard adj, LCA relocation brackets 400
