doesnt matter aslong it s got the vss .The original speedometer had a wire harness connector on the rear. That would have been the VSS. It was connected to the ECM to provide vehicle speed information. i'll need that input to enable the ECM to control the transmission torque converter lockup, the cooling fan shutoff, and possibly some of the IAC/stall saver programming on decel.

 

I'm headed to the junk yard today and on monday there was an 85 TPI Trans Am with a gauge cluster all in one piece. It was metric. Should I check on a price for you? Want the whole cluster or just the spedo?

I pulled just the spedometer today and hid it at the scrap yard. It had a mechanical hookup for a spedometer cable and also there were a few wires going into it. In the middle of the wires was a yellow box with AC written on it. it has just over 150,000 km's on it and looks to be in very good shape. It hasn't been altered cause the numbers line up perfectly. I forgot to get a price but can call and find out. Send me the pics of yours so I can see if it matches. Back and front.
