its actually much easier than the the registration process which you've obviously mastered.
Simply go into the topic your question relates to, and click on the "new thread" button
it works just like the "reply" type your question then submit.
It might be wise however to use the "search" function, as most likely your question has already been asked several times and answered.
Oh and...

Here is my first open track / auto-x event at Miller Motorsports Park.
I hope i didn't understand the topic wrong, and this is only pro race cars; b/c mine certainly isn't. Making changes little by little. Crate 350 with aftermarket performance TBI, rear out of a 92 camaro so it has rear discs, idk... some other small things im forgetting . Im buying some koni yellows here soon and some subframe connectors. Then i want to work on weight, and more suspension before i start adding more power. Pics kinda suck: they don't show action or movement. I guess the wifey's camera is too good.

ben jammin, love the car. Ditch the 700R4 before it ditches you...
Re: Road race thirdgen!! Pics wanted
Sorry if its off topic, but what's the big weakness for the 700R4 in road racing?
We do endurance racing with a 700R4, manually pushing it up and down through the gears. We have 40+ hours of racing it with no mercy, and the only issue is 1 torn rubber mount ($6) which we replaced in a few minutes. We have a nice big cooler on it, and it never gets over 200F.
This is with pulling it down through the gears under braking and getting rear lockup, and using the shifting to intentionally upset the balance in a corner to make it rotate. The transmission is about the only thing on the car that hasn't let us down.

Beyond just the heat issues with a failmatic it is slushy which I found is a disadvantage in cornering. Transitioning through corners it is nice to have the direct link between your right foot and the rear tires that a MANual trans provides to help with balancing the car. I found that my car with the auto was always tight even with a stiffer rear supension than what was the norm. Also responsivness coming out of the corners was lacking. To me it was just too sloppy and as a result I couldn't get the most out of the car.
Enough about failomatics,,, some pics from this past weekend at Gingerman:

Re: Road race thirdgen!! Pics wanted
The Hoosier tires Austin and I use are pretty sticky and our cars are quite capable. He was running mid 1:40s and I was running high 1:40s. Obviously driving is a major factor, but we were competitive with any of the other full bodied production cars there, including late model Mustangs and Corvettes.
...and yes you haven't lived until you've wheeled something around a road course. It is a blast, and yes it's addicting...

Big Mods,
We run in ChumpCar. If we could switch over to a manual transmission without increasing our value (and taking penalty laps) we would. This firebird is the first of my cars I have taken on track with an auto trans (others being BMW M Roadster and Subaru WRX, both manuals). We started 3 years ago with a turd engine, but after the turd took a dump, we now have a pretty strong engine in it within the rules.
Yeah, its not as responsive as a manual, and never will be. It leaves some to be desired, but we put it through hell 24 hours at a time and have no issues. The only time we blew fluid is when the mount failed. After the new mount and fillup, it ran perfectly again.
Here is a video from a couple months ago. The motor was starting to have issues (dropped a cylinder) and wasn't really pushing it too hard here.

Either way, I'd still NEVER recommend anyone try to use an automatic of any kind for open track use unless you were forced to by the rules.

Re: Road race thirdgen!! Pics wanted
I had a 700R4 in my car for my first ~5 track days and it got to the point that it would spew oil out the vent and oil down the whole back half of my car even with a 12x12x1.5" cooler. On colder days it might have been ok and it also depended on how hard I was running the car. For you I'm guessing you have a lemons application and you likely have a turd of an engine also. I know of someone else that had 2 of the coolers that I mentioned above in front of his radiator plummed in series and he had the vent line on the top of the trans plummed to a purge tank,,, because it still 'purged'. But he had ~400 to the wheels.
Beyond just the heat issues with a failmatic it is slushy which I found is a disadvantage in cornering. Transitioning through corners it is nice to have the direct link between your right foot and the rear tires that a MANual trans provides to help with balancing the car. I like his spoiler. It's a real gn? I'm not sure I would convert an original like that but its still cool. And how did you do against that vette

As far as me versus that vette, I can't remember. I don't remember any of them passing me that day and I passed a few of them. Equal driver and equal tires I'm faster than a C5 Zo6.
