4L70E question
Has anyone put a 4L70E behind a gen1 small block? I have one and am trying to figure out what I need to make it work properly in the mechanical sense like correct geometry of the torque converter to crank/flexplate.

Re: 4L70E question
Some earlier 4L80-E applications in 3/4 tonne truck LS_ engine apps used a .4" spacer between the crank & flexplate to match up with the SBC/BBC depth converter. You'll probably find it's too deep a converter in the 4L70-E.

Re: 4L70E question
Thanks for the reply. It turns out GM had a kit just for using the LS style trans and converters behind gen1 and 2 engines but discontinued it. I found one at Jegs though so I'm good to go.
