ATI procharger and intercooler question. Please clear this up :-)
I have been told this is true and not. By ATI and people who have em. I dunno what hte deal is. anyway.......if I get teh procharger and intercooler, do I have to take off my air dam and then wire the fans on all the time? I can't get a straight answer. any pics of the installs would be great too, like the air dam(s) and the engine. thanks

The problem that i see is the lack of front end openings on the TransAm(Firebird), as where the Camaro has the fog light holes,
The intercooler blocks 90% of the area where the car normally gets its air from.
As you can see here
I did'nt wire my fans direct, they are still wired normally, but i do run a cooler t-stat and fan switch.
There are a couple of Bird's here on Thirdgen.org that have ATI's installed.

that is awesome man, thank you so much. I had no clue what they would look like. I think I could almost fab something up to, like a little lower airdam would work. my car isn't lowered so I should be fine with that. thanks, you tha man :-)
Willie added some extensions on his air dam to allow for more air in that hot desert environment he lives in...
here's a pic of Willie's intercooler with the extensions...pretty neat idea, if your roads are nothing like here in Detroit (pot hole capital)..

Well my supercharger arrived early this morning while I was getting ready for work. I felt like a kid at Christmas. I opened the huge box to take out the crank pulley and spacer to send to the machine shop to finish my engine balancing.
Got home from work and decided to mount the intercooler. The directions are horrible, worse if you have a firebird. Thank *** you guys have some pics posted!:hail: Now after removing all the stuff they said to, in terms I have never heard used, I was ready to rock and put the intercooler in place. To my surprise the mounting brackets are missing from the kit. I looked in every bag and box sent. I even went through every last packing peanut to check for them. Guess I'll call them in the morning to try and get some shipped out.
I noticed the air dam they gave me doesn't have any holes drilled to line up to the mounting holes on cooler. WTF? Did everyone elses come this way too?
Well F it, Going back in the garage now to install the stereo I just bought. I will post tons of pics for future firebird install reference, once I get all the pieces to the puzzle.
