Thinking of adding Nitrous...questions??

Hello Im new to the thirdgen board....I am wanting to add nitrous to my 1984 berlinetta...

Curently I have a powerhouse 334 Stroker kit with forged pistons... Right now it has a later year TBI setup which I would like to convert to TPI...But for now I wanted to add nitrous to the current setup...

I was wondering what kind of shot can My setup handle...334 with 9.5 to 1 CR on stock heads...Botom end is stronger than stock but only has forged PISTONS and a 2 bolt block...

What casn I safely handle...

Also any recommendations on WHOSE kit to Buy...Or who has the best prices...

I'm running a N.O.S. dry kit. Most people will strongly recomend you NOT run a dry kit on a TBI/TPI, but with the right fuel pressure it can be done. I had to drop in a holley pump that boosted my fuel pressure up to around 85psi when I "squeeze". Seriously though, I would go ahead and run a wet kit. Start with a 100-150 shot and work your way up. Remember to retard your timing 2 points for every 50 shot you run, and to MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH FUEL! Nitrous is only a catlyst, the real power is in the extra fuel you will be burning. I'm running a 150 shot on a COMPLETELY STOCK bottom end and heads. Dropped me down from a mid to high 14 to a 13.6

Have fun!

I agree. Go with the wet-kit. If you wanted, it might be possible to buy a carb intake manifold, a TBI adapter plate, and a carb nitrous kit.
The TBI kits are a little less than $200 more, so if you did it with the carb intake, you'd spend less and get a good intake manifold out of the deal.

Focker: Need your leg humped? Head over to the TBI board, there's always talk about some 16 yr old buying the 335 kit, and putting it on his car. Ton's of bench racing myths, as nobody's ever done it, around here. You could cut through some of the bullsh!t, and let them know how the 335 is working for you. AND, they'll think you're a G0D.

The 335 is a kit you can buy from the Powerhouse people.
It uses a crank with a 400 stroke, and your existing 305 bore, to create 335, bored .030 over.

Well I have not had it to the track since the 334 install...So I would not have much to brag about :-(

I still have a few details to get worked out with my suspension and the burning of my Prom for the setup....

Id rather make my first pass at the track on the bottle...Im sure just the 334 wont be that impressive......It feels strong BUT again a 350 with a TBI is not exactly ruling *** so I dont expect miracles from it yet....

I was thinking of a wet system And was considering using a Booster poump to help it out...

I already have a walbro in tank kit that was the 255LPH Model...I figure with a booster I should be OK...???
