I wondering if anyone out there has rebuilt their paxton. I just want to see if I can do it my self, or if the only way is to send it off and pay 800.00. If you have done it maybe you can help me out with these questions.

1) where did you get the rebulid kit. paxton no longer supports the SN series.

2) how much was it?

3) Can it be done with standad hand tools?

4) any tips or recommendations, things to look out for.

As of now mine is working great but I did notice some oil in my intake and discharge tube, so, something is failing. I just want to get it befor it to bad to fix. I knoe I can send it to paridise motors in CA. but I don't want to spend 800.00 dollars on it. Thanks for any help you can give.

I've talked to Paridise Wheels and they want $700 for the rebuild. Well I've never gotten 7k miles on this POS before it eats a bearing. So no way in hell am I dumping anymore money into it!!

My plan is to put my whole kit on E-bay, and if I don't get over $150 for it I'm not selling it.
I'll shoot the SOB full of holes with my AK then pack it full of dog ****, and ship it back to Paxton!!!!

Well, after putting maybe 12k miles on this thing with TWO rebuilds I'm not happy. I probably would not be so upset except that Paxton bacically droped the ball drive line and shot me the finger!!

I even used their cooler kit, Then upgraded the kit with a B&M cooler. Even with this, I only got 5k miles with 1500 miles oil changes and, it went south again!!

I wish they would have at least given me the opertunity to trade in my SN for $200 worth of credit on a NOVI. I might have been a Paxton guy for life if they had.

Live and learn. Right now Vortec has my attention for my next purchase.

 

I have had a paxton sn-93 for about 6 years on my 1988 camaro no problems so far,with a hi output impeller.No oil cooler, drag racing all the time, street and track .change my oil 10 races,with type f transmission fluid. works ok for me will up grade soon to vr-4 kit.

 

Well it dosen't look good, It looks like the only way to get it rebuilt is to send it off. I was hoping I could get the rebuild kit and do it myself when the time came. So far I guess I have been lucky my SN-2000 has about 25,000 miles and working great.

Val- is yours a SN-2000, did you do any anything to it your self or just send it off to be repaired. If you are serious about getting rid of it, Iwill give you a 150 bucks for it. It would be a great way for me to learn how to rebuild one, I could experiment on it, let me know.

I was already contacted by someone offering to buy it, and told them yes.

I'm glad someone is having goodluck with these things. I had the oil cooler, and ALWAYS used ford type f fluid. I would have used synthetic but paxton didn't want me using anything else. I was even checking the belt tension when it was cold and hot to make sure I was not putting to much pressure on the bearings.

You guys seem to have the highest miles I've heard of on a SN series. Most people I've talked to average around 10k miles.

I can't complain about the perfomance from the paxton. When it worked it made my 305 a screamer. (when it worked)
