Supercharger question

Someone told me that if I were to put a supercharger in my Trans Am I'd have to rebuild the engine, put different gaskets in, get forged pistons instead of cast, etc. Is that true? Personally I think he was full of it, except maybe the changing the gaskets part, that would make some sense.

Depends on how much boost you run, but since your sig says your putting a new engine in, shouldn't be a problem, you can put in whatever you want. I'd at least go with the hyperuetectic pistons, though if you're gonna go boost crazy, or add nitrous as well, I'd go with the forged

eh, just beware. rods and crank, even cast stock ones wont be hurt by boost too much as long as the revvs stay below 6K. But, your supercharger will munch on your pistons and bearings if you ever detonate, even once, thus highly recommended: forged pistons. search around on this board there is alot of info on this sort of thing.
