What are your fuel management systems?
At the moment I plan on going with a 730 setup with a superfueler for the boost. I thought about the DFI 7.0 but it is pretty expensive and I don't know much about it.
What kind of systems are you using?

I'm in the process of converting from the stock 730 ecm to a 749 ecm with the syclone bin file. Much cheaper figuring the computer only cost me $50 from a boneyard and I get to keep my cruise control and gauges.

I was under the impression that the syclone ECM couldn't be used. Isn't it a 6 cyl engine? Are he burning/diagnostic programs the same for that ECM? Please explain.

The 749 can be used on an 8-cylinder. Glenn (Moderator, DIY PROM board) knows how to do it.
As for my system, I use the antequated 165 (MAF), and Superfueler with a 3-bar MAP & three 72# injectors. My plan called for a conversion to the 749, but my system works so well that I cannot justify the cost and time to convert.

I'm running 749 on a TPI with an Eaton M90. Need to get a set of SyTy wiring diagrams, a 749, and a V8 730 memcal. Do a search on 749 on the Diy Prom board for more info and pinout changes. cheers, Bob

Hmmm. I am 3/4 the way finished with my 165 - 730 swap, just a few more wires to solder. How different is the 749 to the 730 in terms of tuning? Are the same programs available for the 730 able to be used for a 749.
Is there anything wrong going with my original plans?
