Wastegate location

This is on a single setup with a x-over pipe going to a manifold. The T4 turbo's generally don't have built in wastegates (only T3's right?) so I have to be a little inventive. Would there be any problem with putting the w/g on the x-over pipe just before it connects to the manifold? The other idea I had was making a spacer plate for the tubo to sit higher and then mount it on the plate. I am leaning towards the x-over pipe for ease of installation at the moment, but am unsure if bleeding off 1 bank will be enough.

I put mine in the crossover right before the turbocharger.

You have it after the 2 banks join... which I assume is the best/traditional way. Would I be able to control exhaust flow enough when I am only bypassing 1 bank of cylinders?

Yet again you have to show off your project don't you!

I dont know how putting it in one back only would react. If your building a crossover pipe, why even bother worrying about it?

haha showing off. I still think its better to show rather than tell.

The turbo I will probably end up running doesn't have a built in wastegate. If I don't put one somewhere I will have no way of controlling the amount of boost I want.

I meant, if you have your choice of where to put it, dont sweat it. Put it where you nneed to.

OK that makes so much more sense than what I thought you said. I got the impression you were telling me to not worry about putting one in!
