Has anyone changed to the "quieter" unit?
If so, is it really quieter than the V1?
thanks for the answer

barely
So there’s no reason to „upgrade“?
Hey nice cars you have. I wish I could do something similar. But with our stupid laws I would go to jail if I mod my car like this…

I guess you could, it doesnt cost anything more to upgrade, so of course your getting everything you pay for.

Vortech gives you $1000 for your class "A" condition V-1 S-trim. Then charge you $1800 for a V-2 S-trim. Difference $800.
Is it worth it? If it is really as quiet as they say it is. We need to hear from someone who actually owns one.

I went from the S Trim to a YS-Trim. You can barely hear the YS-Trim in comparison. There is a link in my sig on the dyno with the YS-Trim installed. Judge for yourself.

I'm sorry, I see that he is talking about the V-1 "A", I believed he was taliking about the V-2 "S" regular and the V-2 "SQ". I thought of this because so many of the sales places ask you if you want the V-2S or the V-2SQ when you get your kit to ask if you want the "quiter" one or the "louder" one. I have installed both on customers cars and the V-2SQ "quiet" makes quite a racket, unless you had one of each running on each side of you, Its hard to tell the quiet from the loud.

I have run both the s-trim, and now the y/s-trim. The y/s-trim is by far the quietest supercharger I have ever heard (even with cogs). If you are going to spend the money for the upgrade, get the y/s-trim.You can also put a large pulley on it to keep the boost down, and will have the added benefit of more belt wrap. The y/s-trim is a larger supercharger, but no modifications to your brackets have to be made. Hope this helps your decision

The YS-trim fits in the stock 82 - 92 Vortech Brackets? Wow! Whats the price of this over the T-Trim? I always thought that thing was way to big to fit in the stock brackets.Originally posted by BlownBird

Yes, I am sure it was the YS-Trim on the dyno. I actually like the stealth aspect of it. Now people only think the car has a "cam."
And it did bolt to the S Trim brackets with no mods other than the intake and discharges are bigger. Good luck.
