Here's a link to the Tuning PDF on their website. You'll need Adobe Acrobat reader to read it:
http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/TechSer...o/R10149-5.pdf
And here is a link to Holley's website about the 950 ECM:

From what I've heard the tunability is good. People have bought the Standalone ECm system for around 800-900. It does Datalogging and you can hook a laptop up to it. it also comes with all the software and it looks pretty easy to use. To tune high boost applications (3 bar map sensor, more than 1 bar psi) you'll need a 2.0 firmware upgrade. I'm looking into the 950 ECM as well. I had planned to do the 749 Ty/Sy ECM swap, but I want the StealthRam so I'm looking @ the complete kit with the 950 ECM. The price makes me think twice (around $2,000) but it does include ALOT of stuff (intake, TB, injectors, ECM, etc) so it seems like a better deal than the other expensive DFI setups around that price. It will work with both turbo and supercharged engines.

I hear that....lol. Real time tuning is the key. It allows you to get the
best tune without guessing what to change @ X rpm or load level. You can
make the real time change and see if the engine likes it. Personally I
think you'd get a better tuneup.
You can setup 2 maps in less time than it takes to do one prom, one for
street/strip, pump/race fuel. Whatever.
Either ECU can get the job done. The Cmdr950 is certainly easier to tune.
The datalogger is really good, especially for troubleshooting bad sensors or
problems @ the track. Check your shift points, max rpm etc...I have the
older s/w version that controls Nitrous (if you wanted to go that route).
It can handle 2 and 3 bar MAP sensor if you ever decide to add a turbo or
blower. Turn the e-fan on/off @ any temp. Go in/out of closed loop at any
temp or rpm.
We sell the 950-101 for the same price ($800). An ECU and harness separate
is a little cheaper (need to check price).
I guess it depends what your into. I've tuned older Holley EEPROM stuff
that didn't have real time...it sucked. Took to long to get a "quality"
tuneup, didn't give me results I wanted without constantly messing with it.
Didn't like stopping to make/load changes. You'll need to get into the
ECU everytime you need to make a change.

Personally I just want to be able to have one tuning setup to pass emissions and the other, used almost all the time, for street use. Since I'm going to take my car for a 2 year sniffer test pass soon, I am gonna have two years to figure what I need to do to get it tuned for emissions lol. if it comes down to it, I'll just put a plate in my exhaust for the test lol. A speed density swap would be cheaper, but that means sticking with GM headaches, plus I have to get a used computer to make the difference between a 950 and 730 ECM reasonable, and I just can't trust that.
