ZZ3 camshaft good for blower?
Hey guys,
I've got a LT4 Hotcam right now and a eaton roots style blower. I would like to swap to something that gets better gasmileage and can use the boost better.
I just aquired a ZZ3 camshaft that came out of a 93 Z28 that ran 12.40 on motor and the stock chip. I later tuned the car myself and was surprized to see that this cam pulls 18 inches of vaccum easy.
The car this came out of later got a Hotcam and the car actually slowed down.
the specs of a ZZ3 are 208/221 510 544 112lSA (with 1.6 rocker)
my LT4 Hotcam is 218/228 525 525 112LSA (with 1.6)
I'm thinking the ZZ3 should do better with a blower. I would like a little more LSA but with as much vaccum as this thing pulls I'd expect it not to have as much overlap.
What do you guys think?

ZZ3 with ATI
I haven't had any problems running it with my setup. However, I do think there are better cams out there and making a simple call to Comp Cams or Lunati will help you find them.
