Bought the new FAST system

I just ordered the FAST system from Stanley Poff at www.tciauto.com. I'll let you know how well it works soon. It's supposed to be the best and the simpliest. We'll see. Jimmy Daniel

Jimmy, when I had a vortech on my car, I fiddled with a factory Speed Density system for a short while with very limited success. I bought the FAST and after 3 passes down the track had it nailed down.

I didnt have to change the program the rest of the time I owned the car.

Since Ive changed to the turbo, ive had problems associated with the turbo install and havent been able to get the program tuned in yet.

But the ease of tuning is there. You just have to get the car running which is really the hardest part of all of it.

I bought one two months ago. Hasn't worked right yet. Sent the ECM back for repair once already and they said they repaired a faulty solder. After f'n with it all day Saturday, the ECM is still malfunctioning. The guy that sold me the system has installed many without a problem. Once the ECM gets warm the IAC commands get all screwed up. We are not settling for anything less than a new ECM and wide band O2 sensor this time. It's a shame because what I saw when it was working is very impressive technology. Maybe I can get it squared away and dyno tuned before the snow.

Thats one reason as to why I am so supportive of using a 730/749 and $58 mask. For me, and believe most people, it's the best solution for boosted setups. Granted its not perfect, (ie EGR functions) but thats a code problem that can be solved with some work. The ECMs are rock solid. And far easier to replace.

Nothing bad regarding the FAST stuff.. just IMHO too expensive for what little benefit it offers.

Good luck getting yours replaced and working correctly.. always a #$@#%^ when stuff doesn't work right, no matter who/what the source.

if i was running an n/a motor i wouldn't hesitate running a modified GM code but i will not run my xxxhp motor w/o a self-adjusting wb02 when i can afford one. It's just too good of a safeguard

so far the commander 950 seems to be doing good on my motor, before the boost, and it was fairly cheap under $1000 total with sensors and software.

for an extra $400~ you can add the WB02 hardware to it, and there you go a self adjusting WB02 setup that can run closed loop during WOT...

thats less than half the $ of a fast setup.
