turn manifold upside down for turbo?
turn manifold upside down for turbo?
Is there any reason why a manifold could not be turned upside down for adding a trubo? I have a couple of manifolds from some 327 trucks that are shaped in a "M" they look like they would work upside down and then run a pipe from the manifold to the turbo

This is exactly what im doing. You will need to find some manifolds that have both exits at the rear (unlike l98 manifolds, which the driver side exits between cylinders 5 and 7).
Take a look at manifolds from a late 80s/early 90s fullsize van (with a 350 obviously). They seem like they would flow decently and are almost a perfect fit.

Unlikely.
Those l98's have the "log" positioned above the exhaust ports. Your rams horns manifolds would be flipped to extend a few inches below the ports. Not certain, but its a good bet that it would interfere with the spark plugs.
My criteria for choosing an oem manifold were:
1. downturned, rear exit
2. something that extended down below the spark plugs, so there was no clearance when it was flipped.
my only concern was that the manifold would hit the valve cover, but now that i test-fitted them to the car, i dont think theres any way for that to happen
