Bigger heads
will I benifit from going from 64cc heads to 72cc heads.This is for a 383 w/F1 procharger.Forged internals crank 6.0 rods J E inverted dome pistons with custom cam from Comp.These are Pro 1 heads.I know everyone says that AFR are the best but can get Pro 1's at a good discounted price.Thanks

Yes...but only if you take advantage of the fact that this will lower your compresion ratio (as compared to the 64's). Lowering your CR will allow you to run MORE BOOST(!) without detonation if all else is equal.

Cheapest way to run faster and keep the compressor in its "efficient" range.
Of course, I could drop 3k on a new head unit, rather than 500 on heads but.. Why?!

Well it depends...
Increasing the CC size will also increase the quench area. Too much quench and you'll get detonation / spark knock, EVEN with low compression. You'd more than like have to make up the difference w/ a different head gasket.
Just one thing to keep in mind.
