i've always wanted a supercharger, but for the money a whole new crate motor might even be a better choice....but i don't know, maybe you guys can answer that...i found a 455HP crate motor on ebay for 3700 bucks, or i could get like a vortec, or an equivilant S/C, and run it on my TPI....but i got some questions about that....what do i have to do other than slappin on the supercharger...do i have to spend money to get it tuned, do i have to change cam, do i have to change injectors, are there any problems that would come up if i slapped a supercharger on it or is it designed to run with a stock TPI motor.....i'm really stuck in a dilema, i could be at 355 HP with the supercharger or 455 with the crate motor...what do you guys think i should do???

the price tag on the crate motor seems to be around just under 4grand...but now that i'm lookin, superchargers for corvette TPI's are up in the 3g area also...where can i find the procharger for a reasoable price???

 

Um, be careful of those crate motors on ebay, I had a buddy that pulled his and several of the internal parts were heavily worn (recycled cam shaft, crank, block not bored recently) and it only dynoed at 312hp and not the 400 the guy said, not to mention the fact that the compression ratio was not even close.

The guy voided the warrenty cause he pulled the motor apart after it started smoking at abou 1000 miles and luckily the guy that sold it was somewhat of a local so my buddy took the motor to his place of business and he got a refund

Anyhow just becareful with that ebay stuff, I'd rather be on the safe side and purchase a new block and assemble myself then to have some kid with a 12pack and a new craftsman set assemble it like shi7
