procharger pcv solution
Hi guys I want to share an Idea i had pertaining to the stock opereting pcv system on a supercharged firebird gta.
pro charger 9psi
The stock pcv on a gta : intake air goes in the passenger side valve cover and manifold vacuum sucks out the driver side.
I have tried many ways to limit the pressure buildup during boost but only one seemed to work.
I tried a three way solenoid valve on the intake side and that did not work.
The way i have it now is on the driver side i put a check valve (brake booster check valve) inline and piped as stock.
The passenger side is a breather only.
I noticed while testing, that the car runs better accelerates
better and idles better when the manifold vacuum sucks out thru the pcv(rather than being plugged).
I understand that the intake air on a stock gta is metered
thru the maf.so i tried to leave the intake side attached to
the throttlebody and reduce pressure thru solenoid, natural gas regulator,.01micron air filter, but since they all failed
i put a breather on the passenger valve cover and it works
well. I have some more testing to do but i think this is a
solution to the problem.
summary =plug throttle body( the connection that goes to
the passenger side valve cover).
install breather on passenger side valve cover.
install check valve inline with the pcv valve to ensure boost
pressure can not enter valve cover(stock piping on driver side except add brake booster check valve).
