What rods for 175 shot?
I blew up my 305 at the track the other day and I'm going to rebuild a 350 I'm pretty sure. I'm going to go with some forged dished pistons and need to know if stock rods would handle it. Running dished pistons because I'm running LT1 aluminum heads with 52cc chambers. Are there any stock GM rods that could handle 500HP or so?
I'm planning on building the bottom end to be able to handle a 175shot of spray. Eventually I may ditch the spray in favor of an M90 as the car becomes more of a good weather car instead of daily driver.
If there aren't any stock GM rods that would work with it, I'm looking at the forged Eagle I-beam rods for $270ish in Jeg's.

At the very least you need to upgrade the stock rods with some ARP bolts. The way im setting up my 383, is im overbuilding it now, forged, and with a lower compression, about 9.6:1 with a 64cc head, so that when i go FI, i can swap to some Aluminum heads, probly AFR, and that will drop the CR down to 9:1 or lower.
I picked up a set of Scat 4340 I beams from the site here, they are rated for 700hp @6,500 RPMs, but you can get them at CNC-motorsports.com for around $240

Hmm I'll have to look into those rods, that sounds like a good price for what you're getting from them. Also am getting flat-tops with the bottom-end I'm buying, so my CR will be between 10.6-11, not too sure I'll be using the juice anymore.

That compression is fine for Nitrous, just have to go colder on the sparkplugs, and pull a few degrees of timming.

Hmm we'll see, that's a possibility. Might need to sell the kit for some extra money anyways though now. I'm actually picking up a 355 shortblock tomorrow with forged pistons, GM pink rods with ARP bolts, and an Eagle cast steel crank. Compression will be either 10.6 or 11.1 depending on head gasket thickness I go with.
