Tune Help Urgent~!

alright vetran GM guys that know their ****.... I have a carbed 350 and I am going to be tuneing it on the dyno.... I talked to chris about tuneing and what all I should do. I am going to get the AF right and timing on the motor, on the dyno. then adjust back for the n20, and spray it on the dyno then tune it for AF like that. I will be running a 150-200 shot for sure... how far back on the timing, or do you reccomend i just keep going up on it until detonation occurs? I have jetted the carb for the a/f as it sits now, but I think I will have to do it again. Whats optimum A/f for motor/nitrous, how do i get it perfect... I want to put down some real numbers and make some real power.... Thanks for your help.

I have a zz4 shortblock, l98 heads, 10.5 to 1 compression, 490 lift cam (dont remember specs) n20, 1.5 roller rockers, 670 carb, etc....

whats optimum timing on the motor, how far back for n20, etc...

If you don't already have a bunch of jets, the people at Auto Zone don't usually know it but each store should have one complete jet assortment kit behind the counter for around 30 bucks.I was told this from my friend in Little Rock so I checked here and sure enough the guys had no clue as to what I was talking about untill I said it looks kind of like a little tackle box with the word Holley on top.

Re: Tune Help Urgent~!

please back off the timing considerably, it would be a shame to blow a head gasket or worse a piston. I don't really know about N2O but i know for boost you need atleast 2 degrees retardation with each psi....
